Crazy people have crazy friends!

I received this video from a friend of mine that is getting ready to do the Race Across AMerica.
Its a 600k brevet. That's 372.82 miles. Paul finished it in 26 hours. Watch it till the end, there is a short interview with him talking about his training this year so far.

So I'm a geek!!

I got a new toy! Like a Garmin 705 isn't enough I have a Power tap now. Good news is Garmin and Power tap are starting to play nice.(Garmin is now a title sponsor for Slipstream)
So with a little luck....

My handlebar won't look like this for long!

The light will need to stay, but the Power tap head soon will go.
A whole lot of information in one small package. The garmin is a cool unit. With the mini SD chip I can find even more roads to ride. Import courses from www.mapmyride.com that are easy to follow (I can't get lost if I try).

On to other news, Flooding! Yes we live on the rock river. Not close but it criss crosses through Janesville quite a few times. The river is to crest Saturday sometime.
Sunday I went for a little ride and these are the picture's that I took. the river is foot higher now!

This is Main St. Down town Janesville.

Better news. I rode home from work Tuesday night, and back to work Thursday morning.
Beautiful ride both ways. Had a good chance to play with the Power tap. I don't know what it is telling me, other then I a weak, weak cyclist.

Ahhh Wisconsin in the morning! You don"t know what your missing!!

I got in some miles!!

I got in 26 today. The roads weren't to bad dry for the most part, but a few places that the water had no place to go.
My Dad always ask where does the white go when the snow melts?
I think it all gets sent to Wisconsin they spread cow crap on it and it turns brown.
That's my answer.

It was go to get out for the first time in over a month.
Looking for more miles this weekend!
Till then...

Peace and grease.

Ben Franklin

I finally got in my first Bennie in over 5 years! Hot damn! I can mark that off the to do list for the year. I've done five 90 plus days but its just not the same as a Ben Franklin!

We have had a ton of rain in August 17" plus with a lot of lighting so the 600 miles of July look pretty good compared to the miles I done this month.
I guess I need to quite bitching and just ride!
Peace and Grease.

Putting in the Miles

Trying to look cool

Just one of the very nice class "B" road's that I ride to work.

I had a good month. 626 miles, and it was for only 3 weeks and 1 extra day. I started commuting to work 3 days a week. Not as hard core as it sounds. I Drive to work and ride home, ride to work the next morning and drive home. Between 45 and 47 miles each way and takes about 3 hours, I'm able to get in a little over 190 miles a week. Its lots of fun and save a lot on Gas!

Getting in some miles

Yes the rumors are true! I have been riding my bike! Believe it or not I already have in over 60 miles for the year. I have in fact road the last 3 Sunday's. The first 2 were great, yesterday not so Great. Cold, Wind and Rain were my riding Buddy's. Thank god uphill stayed home, he always hurts me. All in all it was a good ride. The wind up here isn't as bad as Nebraska. 20mph is off the charts here. Hell that everyday in Husker land.
So what's going on in Omaha? Is anyone riding? Lets see some picture's lets read about some rides. Hell lie to me, I can't call you on it! I hear the Miah is kicking ass, and has everyone running scared. Miah lets hear some stores of how you keep schooling PB'jr. Not that you haven't schooled bigger fish, it's just fun to hear about PB'jr crying in is milk.
But most important get on you bikes and have fun.
Peace and grease to all!
